While inspecting the Kurigram Stadium, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and singer Asif Akbar said that there is no annual calendar at BCB, the football federation, the National Sports Council, or even at the district level. He said a 5-, 10-, or 12-year calendar should be created, which would prevent any conflicts between anyone.

Asif Akbar stated that players may play 15–22 matches in about eight months, which is why a survey is being conducted. At the national level, 6–7 age-group tournaments are being organized. In this context, the Prime Bank School Tournament will begin soon.

On Friday (21 November), he visited Kurigram Stadium in northern Bangladesh as part of a tour to inspect venues for developing players aged 14–18.

He added that all facilities for players’ practice would be monitored and addressed promptly. “Our aim is to ensure cricket opportunities for the youth and expand the game across all educational institutions in the country,” he said.

The visit was attended by BCB director Mohammad Hasanuzzaman, member secretary Armanul Islam, Additional District Commissioner Asaduzzaman, and members of the district sports organizations and club committees.
