Bangladesh’s Avik Anwar Clinches Gulf Pro Car Championship Title
Avik becomes the first Bangladeshi to win the international racing title with a dominant performance in the Renault Clio category.
Bangladeshi racer Avik Anwar has made history by winning the Gulf Pro Car Championship Series (2025–26), securing the title with an outstanding performance in the United Arab Emirates.
Participating in Round 7 of the championship, Avik competed in the Renault Clio category and emerged as the class champion among 10 drivers. His consistent excellence throughout the season also earned him the overall championship title, making him the first Bangladeshi to achieve this milestone.
Avik finished the series with a remarkable 377 points, far ahead of runner-up Maxim Volikhin, who managed 207 points.
The final race took place under challenging rainy conditions on Saturday. While most drivers opted for wet tires, Avik chose to race using slick tires, demonstrating exceptional skill and confidence to maintain control and secure victory.
The championship featured around 40 competitors from various countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, India, France, Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan, Hong Kong, China, Italy, and Lebanon.
Avik’s achievement is being widely recognized as a significant moment for Bangladesh in international motorsports, showcasing the country’s growing presence in the global racing arena.
