Bangladesh's T20 World Cup Matches to be Held in Sri Lanka, No Objection from ICC
ICC Clears Way for Relocation Amid Safety Concerns
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given its approval for Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup matches to be held in Sri Lanka, following concerns over player safety in India. This decision comes after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) raised concerns over the safety of their players, especially after the recent controversy surrounding cricketer Mustafizur Rahman’s removal from the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to political tensions.
The matches were initially scheduled to be played in Kolkata, India, but in light of growing concerns, the BCB sought to relocate them to Sri Lanka. The ICC, after reviewing the situation, has given the green light for this move, ensuring that Bangladesh's team will now compete in Sri Lanka for the World Cup.
The BCB is optimistic that this change will provide a safer and more secure environment for the team.
