BCB to Implement New Regulation Preventing Centrally Contracted Players from Holding Positions in CWAB Committee

The Chronify

Bangladesh Cricket Board aims to strengthen governance by limiting centrally contracted players’ involvement in players’ association politics.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is set to introduce a new regulation that will prohibit players under central contracts from holding positions in the Cricket Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) committee. The proposed policy seeks to establish a clear structural separation between the BCB’s contractual authority and the internal politics of the players’ association.

This move is intended to mitigate conflicts of interest and ensure greater institutional independence in cricket governance. By restricting centrally contracted players from participating in committee roles, the BCB aims to reduce any potential overlap between the board's operational responsibilities and the political dynamics within the players' body.

This regulation is expected to bring about a more transparent and efficient system of governance, helping the board and players' association focus on their respective roles without undue influence or distractions.
