ICC Confirms No Sanctions on BCB, Bangladesh Set to Host Future Event
The International Cricket Council has clarified that Bangladesh faces no penalties after withdrawing from the T20 World Cup and will host an ICC event between 2028 and 2031.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially confirmed that it has not imposed any sanctions or penalties on the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) following Bangladesh’s withdrawal from the ICC T20 World Cup.
In addition, the ICC reaffirmed Bangladesh’s position as a future host nation, announcing that the country will host an ICC event between 2028 and 2031, in advance of the Men’s ODI World Cup scheduled for 2031.
This clarification resolves earlier speculation about potential disciplinary action against the BCB. ICC officials emphasized that Bangladesh remains in good standing with the global cricket governing body and continues to be an active participant in the international cricket calendar.
The announcement strengthens Bangladesh’s role in global cricket and provides assurance to players, fans, and stakeholders about the country’s continued involvement in hosting major international tournaments.
