Daryl Mitchell's Stunning Century Secures Series-Leveling Victory for New Zealand

New Zealand clinched a commanding 7-wicket victory over India in the second ODI of their series, leveling the contest. India set a challenging target of 285 runs, finishing at 284/7 in their 50 overs. In response, New Zealand completed the chase in just 47.3 overs, scoring 286/3, with Daryl Mitchell playing a match-winning knock of 131* from 96 balls.

Mitchell’s century was the highlight, as he led his team with 11 fours and 2 sixes. His brilliant partnership with Will Young (87 runs off 98 balls) put New Zealand back on track after a shaky start. Together, they added 162 runs for the third wicket, taking control of the match. The final blow came from Glenn Phillips, who remained unbeaten on 32 runs, guiding New Zealand to victory 15 balls before the target.

India’s batting saw a solid contribution from Lokesh Rahul, who remained unbeaten on 112, but the rest of the lineup faltered. The Indian bowlers, led by Mohammad Siraj, struggled to break the partnerships, despite some early breakthroughs.
