Discussions have taken place within the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) regarding Shakib Al Hasan’s return to the national team. Chairman of the BCB Cricket Operations Committee, Aminul Islam, confirmed on Saturday that if Shakib is fit and available, the selection panel will consider him for inclusion in the national squad.
Along with his return to the national team, the board is also deliberating Shakib's reinstatement into the central contract. A total of 27 cricketers are expected to be included in this year’s central contract, with Shakib's potential inclusion being one of the key topics.
Aminul Islam emphasized, "Our board has discussed Shakib Al Hasan. The board has unanimously decided that if Shakib is available, maintains fitness, and can attend the venue, then the board or the selection panel will consider including him in the team."
Furthermore, the BCB has confirmed that it will provide Shakib with full support to participate in franchise leagues. The board will also issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for his participation in global tournaments, allowing him to play freely in various competitions.
The BCB is actively working to bring Shakib back into the team, ensuring all necessary steps are in place to reintegrate him both into the national squad and the central contract.
