Family’s Plea Leads to Touching Gesture as Rockstar Games Gives Terminally Ill Fan a Preview of GTA 6

In a heartwarming story, Rockstar Games has fulfilled the wish of a terminally ill fan who hoped to experience Grand Theft Auto 6 before its official release in November. The emotional request came from Anthony Armstrong, a developer at Ubisoft Toronto, who reached out on LinkedIn seeking help for his family member, who had been given only 6-12 months to live due to a battle with cancer.

Armstrong’s LinkedIn post went viral, catching the attention of Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games. Armstrong explained that his relative, a longtime GTA fan, might not be alive to see the official release of GTA 6, which was set for November 19. Given that they lived near Rockstar's Oakville studio, Armstrong hoped that the company might arrange an exclusive playtest to grant them the opportunity to experience the game before their time ran out.

Rockstar Games responded with a heartwarming gesture. After Armstrong’s post went viral, he later updated his message, confirming that Rockstar had been in contact with the family member and that "great news" had been shared, though he refrained from giving further details.

The fan will now get the chance to play the highly anticipated GTA 6 ahead of its November launch. Armstrong thanked everyone involved for making this wish come true, expressing deep gratitude for the gesture on behalf of his family member.

This touching story underscores not just the power of community in the gaming world but also the human side of the industry, with Rockstar Games showing compassion and kindness to make a fan's dream come true in their final months.
