Bangladesh Receives $293 Million in Remittances in First 28 Days of December
In the first 28 days of December, Bangladesh has received a total of $293.6 million in remittances, with an average of $10.49 million per day.
According to Bangladesh Bank's Executive Director and Spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan, remittances worth $293.6 million have been sent to Bangladesh in the first 28 days of December. This represents an average of $10.49 million per day.
This amount marks an increase compared to the same period last year, when the country received $242.1 million in remittances, showing a year-on-year growth.
On December 28, overseas Bangladeshis sent $18.4 million in remittances, and from July 1 to December 28 of the current fiscal year, a total of $1.597 billion was received. This represents a 17.8% increase compared to the same period last year.
In November 2025, the highest amount of remittance for the current fiscal year was recorded, reaching $288.95 million. Similarly, in October and September, Bangladesh received $256.34 million and $268.59 million, respectively. In August and July, the amounts were $242.18 million and $247.80 million.
For the entire 2024-25 fiscal year, the country received a total of $30.32 billion in remittances, the highest ever recorded for a fiscal year in Bangladesh's history.
