China Develops High-Heat Fabric for Firefighters Withstands Temperatures Up to 1,200°C Without Shrinking or Melting
Shenzhen-based tech company Safmax has introduced a groundbreaking nano-membrane fabric capable of withstanding extreme temperatures up to 2,192°F (1,200°C) without melting, shrinking, or deforming. The innovation was showcased at the China Public Security Tech Expo.
Designed for high-risk environments, the advanced material is fire-resistant, waterproof, windproof, and breathable all while being incredibly lightweight. It can be applied to textiles as thin as 1% the width of a human hair, making it a flexible solution for firefighting suits, emergency blankets, and battery fire protection.
Safmax says the fabric offers a next-generation alternative to traditional flame-retardant cotton and heavy multilayer protective gear, setting a new standard for safety textiles.
