The U.S. Department of Defense has recently submitted its annual report to Congress, stating that China seeks to integrate India’s Arunachal Pradesh into its own territory. The report describes this ambition as a “core objective” of Chinese leaders.

In addition to Arunachal Pradesh, China also seeks to assert full control over Taiwan and almost the entire South China Sea. China’s goal is to achieve the “great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation” by 2049. This vision of rejuvenation includes control over India’s Arunachal Pradesh, Taiwan, and the South China Sea.

The report further states that China views the integration of Taiwan with the mainland as a “natural necessity” for achieving this rejuvenation. Under its new objectives, a rejuvenated China aims to operate at a high level globally and build a military capable of fighting and winning any conflict, while safeguarding territorial integrity, security, and development interests.

The report also highlights the growing relationship between China and Pakistan, noting that Beijing is deepening military ties with Islamabad. The two countries are jointly producing the JF-17 fighter jet, and Pakistan is the only country permitted to purchase China’s J-10 fighter aircraft.

In addition to Pakistan, the report says China has supplied drones and other military equipment to several countries. It mentions the sale of eight Yuan-class submarines to Pakistan for $3 billion.

The report also notes that China’s People’s Liberation Army is considering establishing military bases in Pakistan.
