Strong iPhone demand, steady pricing strategy and a new device leasing program help Apple edge past the historic valuation mark ahead of quarterly earnings.

Apple briefly crossed the $5 trillion market valuation milestone on Tuesday, becoming only the second publicly traded company in history to achieve the landmark after Nvidia reached the threshold earlier this year.

The technology giant's shares climbed to an intraday high of $342.89, pushing its market capitalization above $5.03 trillion before easing later in the session. By the afternoon, Apple shares were trading around $337.70, leaving the company's market value at approximately $4.96 trillion.

The achievement comes just weeks after Apple reclaimed the title of the world's most valuable company, overtaking Nvidia, which had held the top position since mid-2025.

Apple's impressive rally this year has been fueled by robust demand for its products and investor confidence in the company's business strategy. Unlike many of its biggest technology rivals, Apple has largely avoided massive spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure, choosing instead to integrate external AI technologies into its ecosystem while maintaining tighter control over costs.

Rather than investing heavily in building its own large-scale AI infrastructure, Apple has focused on improving consumer-facing services through partnerships and software enhancements. Analysts believe this approach has reassured investors concerned about the enormous capital expenditures required for AI data centers across the technology sector.

Another factor supporting Apple's stock has been its recent product pricing strategy. The company kept iPhone prices unchanged during its latest product refresh while increasing prices for MacBooks and iPads. The decision encouraged many consumers to purchase new iPhones ahead of potential price adjustments expected later this year.

To further stimulate sales, Apple also introduced a new device leasing program in the United States in partnership with financial technology company Klarna. The program allows customers to pay monthly installments starting at $17.99 for an iPhone, $11.99 for an Apple Watch or iPad, and $24.99 for a Mac, making Apple devices more accessible without reducing their retail prices.

Industry analysts said the leasing initiative changes how consumers perceive the cost of premium devices by replacing a large upfront payment with smaller monthly installments, a strategy expected to support continued demand.

Apple's stock has gained roughly 24% since the beginning of the year, outperforming the other members of the so-called "Magnificent Seven" group of major U.S. technology companies.

Investor attention is now shifting to Apple's upcoming third-quarter earnings report, scheduled for release after market close on Thursday. Market analysts expect the company to post revenue growth of more than 15% compared with the same period last year, reflecting continued strength in product sales and services.

The earnings report is expected to provide further insight into Apple's financial momentum, consumer demand, and long-term strategy as it balances artificial intelligence innovation with disciplined spending while maintaining its position as one of the world's most valuable companies.
