Former US vice president criticizes Trump administration during Michigan speech, calling it “most corrupt” in American history
Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of influencing US President Donald Trump to become involved in a military conflict with Iran, during a political event in Detroit, Michigan.
Speaking at an event organized by the Michigan Democratic Women’s Caucus, Harris claimed that the ongoing confrontation with Iran is not supported by the American public and suggested that Trump was “pulled into” the situation by Netanyahu. She also argued that the war reflects decisions that do not align with US public opinion.
Harris further alleged that the Trump administration is using military action as a distraction from domestic controversies, including what she referred to as the “Epstein files.” She strongly criticized the administration, describing it as “the most corrupt, callous, and incompetent” in US history.
In her remarks, Harris also said that the current US leadership is weakening international alliances and failing to uphold global norms such as sovereignty and territorial integrity. She claimed this has reduced America’s reliability among its allies and diminished its global influence.
She went on to address broader domestic issues including healthcare, reproductive rights, and the economy, while expressing confidence that the Democratic Party would perform strongly in the upcoming midterm elections.
The speech comes amid heightened political tensions in the United States and increasing debate over Washington’s foreign policy direction in the Middle East.
