Dhaka, Islamabad Discuss Regional and Global Issues at OIC Session

Ishaq Dar, Touhid Hossain review Pakistan–Bangladesh ties on the OIC extraordinary ministerial session in Jeddah and expressed satisfaction over the strength of bilateral relations.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah.
According to a statement from the Pakistan High Commission on Monday, the meeting focused on reviewing bilateral relations as well as discussing key regional and global issues of mutual interest.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the robustness and positive trajectory of Pakistan–Bangladesh relations. They underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation through regular high-level exchanges.
The discussion covered a wide range of bilateral cooperation areas, with particular emphasis on trade expansion, educational collaboration, and people-to-people connectivity. The leaders also exchanged views on contemporary regional and international developments affecting the Muslim world.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Islamabad and Dhaka to deepen engagement and enhance cooperation within multilateral forums, including the OIC, to promote collective interests and regional stability.
