BNP recruits Three Retired Army Officers as Tarique Rahman’s body guard
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has reorganised the security structure of its Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, assigning responsibilities across security, protocol and coordination. Three retired army officers have been appointed to oversee the revamped team.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has restructured the security team of its Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman by dividing responsibilities into three key areas and appointing three retired military officers to lead them.
The development was confirmed in a press release issued on Tuesday night, signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
According to the release, Major (retd) Mohammad Shafawat Ullah has been appointed Director (Security), Major (retd) Moinul Hossain has been named Director (Protocol), and Captain (retd) Md Gani Ul Azam has been appointed Director (Coordination) of Tarique Rahman’s security team.
The appointments aim to strengthen overall security management, ensure protocol compliance and improve coordination related to the BNP acting chairman’s movements and activities, the statement said.
Party sources indicated that the restructuring is part of broader organisational preparations ahead of upcoming political programmes and the national election.
