Earthquake Shakes Gazipur Aftershocks, Another Quake Recorded in Baipail

Gazipur, Bangladesh — A recent earthquake shook Gazipur on Saturday morning, November 22, 2025, leaving residents on edge after the recent tremors in Narsingdi. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s Earthquake Observation and Research Center, the tremor was recorded at 10:36:12 AM, with a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter of the earthquake was identified near Baipail, situated between Gazipur and Savar, approximately 29 kilometers from Dhaka. The quake follows a series of seismic activities in the region, adding to public concern about the frequency of tremors in the area.
Nizam Uddin Ahmed, a professional assistant at the Earthquake Observation Center, confirmed the earthquake’s occurrence and provided further details to local media. No significant damage or casualties have been reported yet, but authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
Residents in Gazipur and nearby regions are advised to stay vigilant, as further aftershocks are possible in the coming hours.
