On December 20, 2025, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus spoke at the funeral of Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for the Inqilab Mancha, emphasizing that Hadi would never be forgotten. Addressing the attendees before the namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayer), Yunus highlighted Hadi’s significant contributions to the nation, particularly his role in demonstrating how to conduct an election campaign with integrity and connection to the people.

 

"By embracing the lessons you gave us, we ensure that you remain alive in our memories. Hadi, you will never be lost. No one will ever be able to forget you. You will remain with us for decades," Yunus declared. He praised Hadi’s determination to contest the election and his drive to build a new Bangladesh.

 

Yunus also acknowledged Hadi’s courage in the face of oppression, calling him an enemy of the forces of fascism and terror. He reaffirmed that Hadi’s tragic death would not silence the call for justice, nor would it halt the country's progress toward democracy.

 

Thousands of mourners, including citizens from various walks of life, gathered at Manik Mia Avenue for Hadi’s janaza, chanting slogans for justice and vowing that his sacrifice would not be in vain. Many participants expressed their determination to continue Hadi's work for a new, democratic Bangladesh.

 

The Chief Adviser further stated that the government would support Hadi's family, including his wife and child, in the wake of his loss. To mark his passing, the nation is observing a day of state mourning, with the national flag flying at half-mast across the country. Special prayers were held at mosques for Hadi’s eternal peace, and a nationwide show of solidarity was observed.

 

Yunus concluded by expressing profound sorrow at Hadi’s untimely death, acknowledging the immense void his passing leaves in the country's political and democratic landscape.
