“Hadi Would Alive if Attackers on Me Face Trial”

Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP) President Nurul Haque Nur has said that the failure to prosecute the attack on him has failed, and that if what happened to us at that time had been prosecuted, Sharif Osman Hadi would not have been killed.

He said that a faction within the interim government had supported the attack on me at that time. The killers got the courage to kill Hadi because this government had failed.

Nur said this at a pre-mourning rally organized by GOP in Bijoynagar in the capital on Saturday to protest Hadi's murder and demand the arrest of the accused. Party secretary Rashed Khan and other leaders and activists were present.

Nur said that the entire nation is speechless over Hadi's death. The leftists used to say earlier that we do not want to take this country from a boiling cauldron to a burning cauldron. Now that has happened. This government has corrupted politics in the country, has indulged in fascism. It has pushed revolutionaries to the brink of death.

The former VP of DUCSU said that due to the failure of this government, Prothom Alo and Daily Star were attacked by mobs. Prominent figures like New Age editor Nurul Kabir were harassed.

"Our beloved brother Osman Hadi has become known to the people of the country in a very short time through movement, struggle and sacrifice. When analyzing the Hadi incident, it seems that it and the attack on me are connected by the same thread. The government is condoning these incidents or a part of the government is supporting these incidents, Nur claimed. 

GOP Secretary Rashed Khan said, "How did Osman Hadi's killers escape? Then what is the function of the intelligence agencies of this country? This kind of impunity has happened before, and is happening still. Because this government is 100% failed."
