Hadi's Janaza at Sangsad Bhaban at 2 pm Today

The namaz-e-janaza of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi is scheduled to take place today at 2pm at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban in Dhaka.

According to an announcement from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Friday evening, people wishing to attend the funeral prayer have been requested not to bring bags or heavy items. The wing also stated that drone flights in and around the parliament premises will remain prohibited during the janaza.

Earlier on Friday, Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG 585 arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 5:48pm carrying Hadi’s body from Singapore, where he passed away while receiving treatment on Thursday night.

Hadi, known as a bold frontline figure in the July Uprising and spokesperson for the Inqilab Mancha, was a prospective independent candidate for Dhaka-8. He sustained bullet injuries on December 12 while travelling in a battery-run auto-rickshaw in the Paltan area of the capital.

He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later moved to Evercare Hospital the same day as his condition worsened. On December 15, he was flown to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced medical care.
