Woman Found Dead With Throat Slit in Gulshan House
Police recovered the body of a 27-year-old woman from a rented house in Dhaka’s Gulshan area, with visible injuries and her throat slit. The motive and those responsible remain unknown.
Police have recovered the body of a young woman from a rented residence in the Kalachandpur area of Dhaka, sparking alarm in the upscale Gulshan neighbourhood.
The deceased was identified as Sadia Akhter Mimi, 27. Her body was found inside a house in Kalachandpur Paschim Para on Saturday night.
Confirming the incident, Gulshan Police Station Sub-Inspector Mofizul Islam said police reached the scene around 1:00am after receiving information and recovered the body. It was later sent to the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
According to police, the victim had clear slash wounds to her neck caused by a sharp weapon, along with injury marks on different parts of her body, indicating a violent attack.
Preliminary information suggests that two women lived in the rented house, and Sadia Akhter Mimi was employed at a beauty parlour. Investigators are questioning relevant individuals and examining the surroundings for clues.
Police said the motive behind the killing and the identity of those responsible could not be determined immediately, adding that a detailed investigation is under way to establish how the murder took place and who may be involved.
