Four Injured, Including Three Children, in Russian Drone Attack on Odesa
Russian drones struck Ukraine’s Odesa region overnight, damaging homes and critical infrastructure. Among the injured were three children, including a seven-month-old infant, Ukrainian officials said.
At least four people, including three children, were injured after Russia launched an overnight drone attack on Ukraine’s Odesa region, Ukrainian regional authorities said on Wednesday.
Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper said on Telegram that strike drones targeted residential areas, logistics facilities and energy infrastructure across the region. Odesa, a major Black Sea port, has been repeatedly hit by Russian missile and drone strikes during nearly four years of war.
In Odesa city, the administrative centre of the region, four civilians were injured, including a seven-month-old baby, two other children and a 42-year-old man, according to Serhiy Lisak, head of the city’s military administration.
Lisak said debris from downed drones and direct impacts damaged the facades and windows of several high-rise apartment buildings. Images shared by local officials showed smoke rising from a multi-storey residential building at night, flames visible in several windows, and firefighters battling the blaze.
Russian forces have repeatedly targeted Odesa’s energy, transport and port infrastructure, as well as civilian neighbourhoods, Ukrainian officials say. There was no immediate comment from Moscow on the latest attack.
