"Zero Human Decency," says Keery on Social Media

On January 8, 2026, a tragic incident involving the fatal shooting of a US citizen by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis ignited fierce reactions from the public, including actor and musician Joe Keery. The victim, 37-year-old poet and mother of three Renee Nicole Good, was shot behind the wheel of her car by an ICE officer.

President Donald Trump swiftly defended the ICE agent, claiming the shooting was an act of self-defence after Good allegedly ran over the officer. Trump’s comments sparked widespread outrage, with many accusing him of lacking compassion for the victim. Keery, known for his role in Stranger Things and his music under the moniker Djo, voiced his criticism on Instagram, sharing Trump’s post with the words: "Zero human decency. Stop this man."

The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from local leaders. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who viewed the video, described Trump’s self-defence narrative as "bullshit" and demanded ICE leave the city. Governor Tim Walz echoed the sentiment, stating that Minnesota did not need further federal intervention. Meanwhile, figures like Jimmy Kimmel and Chris Hayes joined the chorus of criticism, calling the ICE actions "cold-blooded" and "state-sponsored terrorism."

Despite the backlash, Trump maintained his stance, calling the situation “vicious” and blaming Good for the incident. As the debate rages on, the tragic event continues to divide opinions and amplify political tensions.
