The Resumed Route Offers Attractive Fares and Enhanced Connectivity Between Bangladesh and the Maldives
Maldivian, the national carrier of the Maldives, has announced the resumption of its direct flights between Dhaka and Malé, starting from 12 March 2026. The route, which was suspended in late 2024, will now operate twice a week, reconnecting the two countries with a more efficient travel option.
The airline is offering return fares starting at $399, which includes a 30kg baggage allowance, making it an appealing option for both leisure and business travelers. The resumption of the Dhaka–Malé route is expected to benefit a wide range of passengers, especially tourists and Maldivian expatriates living in Bangladesh.
Md Nazmul Islam, Bangladesh's Ambassador to the Maldives, shared the announcement on his official Facebook page, highlighting Dhaka as a key destination for Maldivians. He noted that the capital city is favored by Maldivian nationals for business trips, short-term visits, and as a transit hub for regional travel.
Maldivian first began operating the Dhaka–Malé route on 15 November 2012. Currently, US-Bangla Airlines also offers direct flights between the two cities.
