Saudi Arabia’s oldest known citizen, Nasser bin Radan Al Rashid Al Wadai, has passed away at the age of 142. Renowned for his deep faith, he performed the holy Hajj more than 40 times during his lifetime.
Saudi Arabia’s oldest man, Nasser bin Radan Al Rashid Al Wadai, passed away at the age of 142, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of faith, longevity and devotion. His funeral prayers were held on Sunday (January 11) in the southern Saudi city of Dahran Al Janub, attended by nearly 7,000 mourners. He was later laid to rest in his ancestral village of Al Rashid.
Local residents said Nasser bin Radan was widely respected for his exceptional piety and lifelong attachment to the Holy Kaaba and Hajj. Despite his advanced age, he maintained physical strength and spiritual discipline, enabling him to perform Hajj more than 40 times, a feat considered extraordinary across the region.
At the time of his death, he left behind 134 descendants, including children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of the most astonishing aspects of his life was that he married for the last time at the age of 110 and later became the father of a daughter.
Nasser bin Radan was born before the unification of modern Saudi Arabia and witnessed the rule of every Saudi monarch-from the kingdom’s founder King Abdulaziz to the current ruler King Salman.
His passing has drawn widespread attention across Saudi Arabia, with many viewing his life as a rare testament to faith, endurance and historical continuity.
