Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on Monday said Bangladesh firmly supports a rule-based international order and collective global action to tackle economic challenges through cooperation rather than confrontation.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural session of the SAFA International Conference on “Next Generation Profession: Converging Ethical AI and Sustainability Reporting” in the capital, Touhid Hossain said Bangladesh advocates dialogue, confidence-building and cooperative solutions as an active member of the United Nations and other international bodies.
“As a responsible neighbor and a committed global partner, Bangladesh believes in a rule-based international system and collective action to address shared economic challenges,” he said, adding that the country remains actively engaged with multilateral institutions to promote stability, trust and cooperation.
Highlighting the growing importance of ethical artificial intelligence and sustainability reporting, the adviser said rapid technological innovation is reshaping professions worldwide while increasing the demand for transparency, accountability and responsible governance.
For Bangladesh, he noted, the integration of technology with sustainability is essential to sustaining economic growth and deepening global integration. “Professionals must be not only technically skilled but also ethically grounded and socially responsible,” he said.
Touhid Hossain also underscored the importance of platforms like the SAFA conference, saying they provide valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, sharing best practices and strengthening regional and international professional collaboration.
He expressed optimism that the gathering of experts, practitioners and thought leaders from South Asia and beyond would help shape the next generation of professionals by balancing innovation with integrity and accountability.
